Young Adults
In 2007 we quietly said good-bye to the name ‘Oasis’, as we entered into a deliberate period of trying to freshly discern how to minister to and meet the needs of the incredibly diverse body of 18-35 year olds in our congregation. With the formation of the Young Adult Ministry team in the spring of 2007 a new season of ministry began. This has seen the advent of First Friday social gatherings each month, the creation of a Life Group specifically for our college students, moms and kids tea on summer Mondays at the Old Rectory, the advent in early 2008 of a new Discipleship Hour class designed and directed by young couples and the launch of a new series of fellowship dinners in people’s homes called the Bread and Wine Initiative. In each of these different gatherings and at these events our goal has been to create the space for developing a rich and deeply committed community of young adults. Look for more developments in 2008!
