Urban Serve
Urban Serve is part of Good Samaritan’s ongoing partnership
with The Free Church of St. John in Kensington, Philadelphia. Youth
and adults from Good Samaritan work with youth from our partner parish
to provide an evening outreach program targeting children and their
families in the St. John parish neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia.
The team provides games, music, snacks, face-painting, crafts, drama,
and a hands-on introduction to God’s word. We sleep in the parish
hall, create a presence in the neighborhood by cleaning a local park,
and make lasting friendships with families in Kensington.
