Missions

The Missions Ministry at Good Samaritan exists to extend the reach of God’s kingdom through our personal investment in kingdom building individuals and organization around the world.

Missions Opportunities

The next Missions Sunday will be in March of 2004
This is the day to recommit ourselves to Good Samaritan’s broader work of missions. Our worship this day will help bring focus to this, as will our Missions Fair & Celebration at 10:30 am in Ashton Hall.

Short Term Missions Opportunities
Each year, we send out a number of different short-term teams to partner with our sponsored missionaries and offer the gifts God has given to them in His broader missions field. Consider being a part of this. Contact our Missions Coordinator, Carolyn Jewett for more information (cjewett@providenceforum.org). Also, applications for sponsorship of short-term missionary work are available here to be downloaded and sent to Good Samaritan, c/o Carolyn Jewett. Short Term Missions Application

Prayer
Most importantly, please pray for our sponsored missionaries around the world.

International Staff
Frank & Shawnee Lyons, South American Missionary Society: Frank Lyons leads the Episcopal diocese of Bolivia as bishop. His wife, Shawnee, is a teacher and graphic designer at a local school and church. Their church is starting up an ALPHA course to minister to the community this fall.

Steve & Nancy Brown, SIM: The Browns are very excited about the permissions they have received for new well work in the northern regions of Africa. This long awaited work opens up amazing ministry for Steve with a variety of nomadic groups.

Dan & Kathy Klooster, Gateway Missions Training Center: Dan is the Executive Director of the Gateway Missions Training Center, based in Texas and ministering across the border in Mexico. Gateway is currently experiencing lots of growth. Their youth ministry training program is taking off, they are increasing their staff, and this summer they had more trip and projects scheduled than ever before.

Chris Ako, Young Life: Chris continues her long-term work with high school and college students in Poland. She continues to invest in these students as a means growing strong Christian leaders for Poland.

Jean-Marc & Wanda Lepillez, Francophone Fellowship Foundation: Jean-Marc & Wanda are focusing their ministry on French speaking countries. In the next couple of months they will attend seminars relating to training facilitators and missionaries in French countries. They also have two trips to Africa planned to present seminars.

Frank & Ann Bernardi, Frontier Ministries: Frontier Ministries is working hard at setting up churches among Muslim populations. Their ministry is expanding, as is their speaking tour in the U.S. Some church expansion is causing dissention among church members as everyone learns to be flexible and reach out to new converts.

Yazi Adamou, Niger: Yazi's ministry focuses on family conferences and the JESUS film, teaching people directly about the love of Christ.

Domestic Staff
Chris Keidel, Intervarsity: Chris is excited for the new semester of local Intervarsity college ministry now upon him. He is spending a good amount of time investing in his senior leadership team. He is also exploring some partnerships, including work with the college ministry here at Good Samaritan.

Gail Martin, Arab World Ministries: Gail works as a graphic designer for locally based Arab World Ministries. She uses her gifts in computers and design to facilitate ministry in the Middle East.

Drew Allen, FOCUS: Drew is part of the thriving FOCUS ministry at private schools throughout the Philadelphia region. He spends most of the summer leading FOCUS programs at FOCUS’ Martha Vineyard Study Center, and according to students, he is really having an influence.

Craig Cole, Five Talents: Craig’s work as the Executive Director of Five Talents in micro-enterprise continues to thrive. Five Talents helps thousands of people in poor countries across the globe get the start they need to begin supporting themselves through small business.
